Newspapers help facilitate automotive path-to-purchase

In a recent survey of more than 2,400 Canadians, newspapers were rated useful for finding specific automotive pricing/financing offers, specific vehicle information and reviews.  In this study on the new vehicle path-to-purchase three stages were identified: thinking about buying/replacing a vehicle, researching options and making the final purchase decision.  In the second stage where the majority of research into brands and models is conducted, newspapers were found to be quite influential.  More information on this study can be found here.

Data from DesRosiers Automotive Consultants confirms that the new vehicle market was up by 7.2% in September 2017, putting this year on track for an all-time sales record.  Light trucks continue to boost the market and the trend is currently towards luxury vehicles.
