Torstar appoints Chris Patheiger as head of digital advertising products

Torstar Corporation announced today that Chris Patheiger has been appointed as Head of Digital Advertising Products, responsible for digital advertising product development across the company.

Prior to joining Torstar, Patheiger led product and digital advertising strategies for some of Canada’s most recognizable online publishing brands. He was responsible for AutoTrader.ca’s national advertising products and DMP strategy. As an entrepreneur, he founded Redux Media, a programmatic trading company, acquired by Transcontinental Inc. in 2012. And in 2015, he started one of Canada’s first e-commerce driven virtual restaurant concepts.

“I’m excited to join Torstar,” said Patheiger. “I believe high journalistic standards and a sustainable source of truth, which are at the core of what Torstar does, are more important than ever. I started my career in the early days of banner advertising with toronto.com, a Torstar-owned product, so it feels like coming home.”

“Torstar has made significant progress in data-driven, scalable performance solutions for clients,” said Andrew Gordon, vice president ad operations.

Patheiger will oversee ongoing improvements to Torstar’s existing suite of digital marketing solutions while building out a pipeline of innovative new products for businesses of all budgets and sizes, powered by Torstar’s extensive data capabilities.
