Despite an unpredictable print market, quality journalism will continue to be profitable according to Canada's top industry executives. On October 13, the Empire Club of Canada hosted a future of news forum in Toronto with a panel that included Toronto Star publisher John Cruickshank, National Post president Gordon Fisher and publisher and CEO of the Globe and Mail Phillip Crawley. The panel, moderated by Doug Knight of St. Joseph Media, covered a variety of topics related to publishing, including the value of free daily papers and digital business strategies for the future.
