Help promote World Press Freedom Day with free editorials, ads, cartoons and more

The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) has released a package of free materials for newspapers to use in their publications to help promote World Press Freedom Day on May 3, 2013.

The package includes downloadable editorials, advertisements, cartoons, infographics and much more compelling content. Materials are available in a variety of language and are provided free of charge.

We encourage daily and community newspapers to use these materials in their publications in order to raise awareness about this important day and draw attention to press freedom issues worldwide.

To commemorate World Press Freedom Day, Newspapers Canada is partnering with the Canadian Committee for World Press Freedom and the Canadian Association of Journalists to host a special luncheon event during the INK+BEYOND conference in Ottawa. Keynote speaker Charles Sennott, an award-winning, Boston-based journalist and media entrepreneur, will give a compelling presentation on "Ground Truth in a Digital Age." After a uniquely dangerous year for international reporting, Sennott will explain why journalists must renew their commitment to on-the-ground reporting.
