A number of association members have expressed concern that application forms for the Canada Periodical Fund’s Aid to Publishers funding program are not yet available. Newspapers Canada has conveyed members’ frustration to officials from the Department of Canadian Heritage and we appreciate your continued patience. At this point, we are encouraging publishers to gather information in preparation for the application process.
Canadian Heritage assures that there will be no changes to the Applicant’s Guide or the Application Form and that the application deadline will be revised to give publishers four to six weeks to apply.
Newspapers Canada will contact all members directly via an emailed member bulletin once the application forms are available. Canadian Heritage will also contact all previous recipients via email.
The Aid to Publishers component of the Canada Periodical Fund provides financial assistance to paid-circulation non-daily newspapers and paid- or request-circulation magazines. Eligibility and funding amounts are calculated using a circulation-based formula.
