Newspaper media reach nine out of ten adults

The most recent Newspapers 24/7 study from 2016 finds that nine out of ten adults are accessing newspaper content across multiple platforms.

While printed newspapers are still the dominant platform, newspaper reading also takes place on computers, phones and tablets. Most readers are using a combination of platforms, so advertising in print and digital continues to be the most effective way to reach readers.

In fact more than a quarter (27 per cent) of readers are using all FOUR platforms for newspaper reading. “Newspapers continue to be accessed by Canadians across all platforms. They read print but they also use their computers, tablets and phones to connect with content they trust,” says Newspapers Canada CEO John Hinds.
