Newspapers don’t have a readership problem

Contrary to so much of the common rhetoric today, Canadian newspapers do not have a readership problem.

Year after year, our Newspapers 24/7 research finds that about nine out of ten (88%) Canadians read newspapers each week, across different platforms, at different times of the day.

Audiences are looking for local news, insights and the in-depth commentary and analysis that only newspapers offer.

Canadians from all demographics, including younger Canadians, are actively reading newspaper content, in print and digital, at home and on the go, too. Our research shows that about 85% of Millennials read a newspaper on any platform each week.
