In December 2011, Ryerson University’s journalism research centre launched a study to examine various options for the future of Canada’s press councils. The study has been designed to explore and compare existing models for press councils in Canada and beyond and to seek a deeper understanding of councils’ purposes and effectiveness according to their various stakeholders. On Friday, April 27, Ivor Shapiro, chair of the Ryerson School of Journalism, and Lisa Taylor, a lawyer and multimedia journalism instructor at Ryerson, will discuss their research at a special presentation during the INK+BEYOND newspaper conference in Toronto.
If you would like to share your opinions on the future of Canada’s press councils follow the links below to an online questionnaire. The survey closes Sunday April 22 at midnight.
The presentation is one of the many insightful sessions on offer during the two-day industry conference and trade show. If you have not yet registered for INK+BEYOND 2012 you may do so by following the link below.
