Staff changes at Newspapers Canada

Newspapers Canada information technology manager Andrew Powell is moving on from the organization. Powell first joined the Canadian Community Newspapers Association (CCNA) in July 2003 as the front desk administrator. He later moved on to facilitate the Better Newspapers Competition and the national newspaper conference. Following the merger of CCNA and CNA in 2008, Powell was promoted to IT Manager and has been instrumental in building and managing the Newspapers Canada website, the Community Content site, and the upcoming new website for the CMCA program. His last day is Thursday, June 28.

Powell is moving on to manage his two businesses; online entertainment magazine The GATE, and Phoenix Gate Studio, where he specializes in website development, social media marketing, and photography.

Kasandra Rudder has joined the staff at Newspapers Canada as an administrative assistant. She can be reached at info@newspaperscanada.ca.
