Each month, Newspapers Canada spotlights newspaper innovation by inviting newspaper representatives from across the country to contribute to our Innovative Advertising Blog. In this edition, Tanya Kavelaars, account manager at Trampoline Branding in Halifax, explains how Discover Saint John partnered with newspapers in print and online to highlight its new branding and drive a promotional contest.
Trampoline Branding provides both strategic and creative solutions for our advertising clients. One of these clients, Discover Saint John, wanted to highlight its new branding and of course, the destination. We designed a program for Discover Saint John to meet their needs. Using newspaper print and online ads we promoted a Facebook contest.
These ads drove people to the Discover Saint John Facebook page where people were able to plan their Saint John getaway. They also had the opportunity to enter to win an incredible trip to Saint John. Site visitors could enter the contest daily, and earned additional entries by sharing their favourite Saint John experience.
Discover Saint John loved our idea and ran with it! The contest garnered an additional 662 likes on Facebook and over 38,000 views. Newspapers drove people online and helped make this initiative successful!
